My friend Eric Mueller has just refered me to a fascinating article in
the recent internet edition of Monthly Review.  It's called "Understanding
the Other Sister: The Case of Arab Feminism" by Susan Muaddi Darraj.
It's at www.monthlyreview.org.  I tried adding /D302darraj.htm at the end
of the address to get directly to the article, but that didn't work on
my computer.  Still you might try it.  Definitely recommended reading for
anyone interested in feminism or Arab culture or both.
